Speaking in the Indian Treaty Room at the Whitehouse on June 12, President Bush announced the members of his new Homeland Security Advisory Council, formed to assist in the creation of the new Department of Homeland Security. The new department is planned to be the second largest part of the US government, smaller only than the Pentagon.

“Until we rout out every terrorist cell and every terrorist, until attitudes change about freedom in America, we've got to protect our homeland in a new way,” Bush said.

Bush’s appointees to the council include:

James Rodney Schlesinger, former head of the CIA, the Department of Energy, the Department of Defense, the Atomic Energy Commission and now head of the Nixon Center.

Anthony Williams, current Mayor of Washington D.C. and a man who was caught lying during his campaign that he hadn’t received thousands of dollars from accountants Arthur Anderson.

Ruth David, a former leader in the field of spy technology development for the CIA, the National Security Agency and the current CEO of a private advisory corporation that focuses on Homeland Security, called ANSER.

Paul Bremer, former US Ambassador for Counter-Terrorism and managing director of the Kissinger Group, a shadowy international investment firm that specializes in mining places conquered by former Nixon advisor Henry Kissinger.
