The Break The Chains prisoner support collective has been formed to deal with the increasing level of police and state repression, due to the growing anti-capitalist revolutionary current on the West Coast. As the level of resistance increases, it is now more important than ever to support those comrades who have been kidnapped by the state due to their beliefs and actions. While it is important to support political prisoners from around the world, we believe it is necessary to focus our energy and limited resources on those imprisoned in our own region. Although we are primarily an anarchist collective, we are not limiting our support to anarchist prisoners alone. Freedom fighters, eco-warriors, animal liberators, and individuals who have been framed and/or wrongly imprisoned for self-defense and standing up for their ideas all need and deserve our support and solidarity. Our goal is to provide financial and emotional support, and other forms of solidarity, to our comrades and allies on the West Coast. This will include corresponding to prisoners, raising funds through benefits and raising public awareness by publishing their written works and facts on their situations. We will also organize public events such as teach-ins, forums and speak-outs about racism, patriarchy, imperialism, state repression, the prison-industrial-complex, and revolutionary struggle.
